“We’ll get through this, Mum.” Peccadillo Pictures in the UK has debuted their official US trailer for Love Me Tender, an intimate French drama from filmmaker Anna Cazenave Cambet. This initially premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival last year in Un Certain Regard and picked up many glowing reviews. It’s now set for a UK release this August, though still no US date. Clémence, a successful lawyer, leaves her marriage to embrace her true self and falls in love with another woman. Her ex-husband then decides to take custody of their son Paul, manipulating him. As their relationship deteriorates, Clémence struggles to maintain her maternal bond. Based on Constance Debré’s acclaimed novel, Love Me Tender is described as “a moving and timely examination of discrimination, resilience and the fight to protect both family and identity.” Clémence must fight to remain a mother, a woman and a free woman. Starring the superbly talented Vicky Krieps as Clémence, with Antoine Reinartz, Monia Chokri, Viggo Ferreira-Redier, Féodor Atkine, and Ji-Min Park.
