Armenia has given birth to a lot of talented television actors who have gone on to star in comedies, dramas, soap operas, reality shows, and more. 10. Narine Grigoryan (1980)

Narine Grigoryan is an Armenian actress known for her role in Yeva, the Armenian entry for the Best Foreign Language Film at the 90th Academy Awards. In this film she portrays, a young woman who flees to Karabakh with her daughter to escape her in-laws after her husband’s death.

9. Irene Zazians (1927 – 2012)

Irene Zazians, known as Irene, was an Iranian-Armenian actress of cinema and television. She worked with famous Iranian new wave directors both before and after the 1979 revolution, such as Samuel Khachikian, Amir Naderi, Nosrat Karimi, Masoud Kimiyayi, and Alireza Davood Nejad.

4. Eva Khachatryan (1990)

Eva Khachatryan lives and works in Yerevan, Armenia. She is a freelance curator and member of AICA Armenia (International Association of Art Critics). Between 2003 and 2008 she was working as a curator at the Armenian Center for Contemporary Experimental Art (ACCEA) and between 2006 and 2008 she was holding the position of co-director in the Department of Fine Arts at the ACCEA.

One of the leading Armenian actresses, Galya Novents graduated from Yerevan Institute of Fine Arts and Theatre in 1958. Since then she acted in various theatres in Armenia, mainly Sundukyan Drama Theatre but also in Leninakan Theatre and Yerevan Drama Theatre. She received the Best female actress prize during the Venice Film Festival for the role of Siranush in Mer mankutyan tangon (1985).

2. Marie Rose Abousefian (1952)

Marie Rose Abousefian is a stage director, actress, and playwright. She has worked at the Arshaluys Theatre and Yerevan Dramatic Theatre, taking on numerous roles in television, radio, and literary and theatrical shows, filmed by Hayfilm. After emigrating to San Francisco in 1983, she formed the “Saroyan Theatre” of Hamazkayin, San Francisco, for five years as a producer.

Angela Sarafyan is an Armenian American actress. She has appeared as a guest star in many television series such as Judging Amy (1999) and Buffy the Vampire Slayer (1997). Sarafyan has acted in the feature films: On the Doll (2007), Kabluey (2007), The Informers (2008), A Beautiful Life (2008), The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 (2012), A Good Old Fashioned Orgy (2011), and Lost and Found in Armenia (2012). In 2016 she starred as Clementine Pennyfeather in HBO’s Westworld (2016).
