The Hunger Games' 13 Districts, Explained

In the world of The Hunger Games, the North American nation of Panem is divided into 13 districts, each specializing in a different industry. They are all governed by the Capitol, a tyrannical dictatorship ruled by the protagonist of The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, Coriolanus Snow. A united Panem poses a threat to the Capitol, and it is for that reason that the Capitol forbids travel between the districts.
