Shane Gillis Must Be Stopped! (But Not Hasan Piker?)

If Legacy Media had integrity, they would have stopped the woke revolution cold.

Why?

The far-Left movement brims with hypocrisy. The examples are too numerous to mention, but one ripe comparison should suffice.

Morgan Wallen watched his country music career collapse after being caught using the N-word once. The moment was captured on camera but wasn’t aimed at a person of color.

Hunter Biden, according to The New York Post, repeatedly used the N-word in texts. And nothing happened. No punishments, no calls for him to apologize.

Nothing.

Game. Set. Match. Woke is a joke. Exposing those realities would have crashed the “woke mind virus” before it could swarm Western culture.

But, sadly, it did.

Still, there’s one new, glaring hypocrisy that must be called out. It’s staring us in the face, an example that captures the essence of performative woke.

  • It’s about power, not kindness
  • It’s conditional to a fault, and that ties directly to progressive politics
  • It’s about silencing some voices and amplifying others
  • Woke isn’t meant to make the world a better place. Just the opposite

In short, woke in practice is anything but, well, woke.

Which brings us to Shane Gillis. The rebel comic was famously fired from “Saturday Night Live” in 2019 for his past crude Asian jokes. Since then, he’s hosted the show three times.

Woke is conditional, and if “SNL” needed a ratings boost, so be it.

Gillis’ most recent “SNL” appearance found him teasing women who dress in barely-there shorts in public gyms.

“I haven’t been to the gym in so long I didn’t know that women just dress like whores now [emphasis added]. I’m sorry, there’s no other way to describe— have you seen it? I’ve seen it. The shorts? Have you seen the shorts? Those neon — they’re like artificial bait colors. The wrinkles go around the cheeks and all combine at the butthole. And don’t look, you’re not allowed to look — for real don’t look because they are filming. I’m in the background of like 10 TikToks right now.”

That’s it. That’s the joke that launched a culture war crusade, with “Schitt’s Creek” alum Dan Levy leading the faux outrage parade.

For that, Gillis must be punished. Article after article after article said as much, coming from major institutions like The Hollywood Reporter, Today.com, Deadline and more.

It’s three days later, and news outlets are still extending the non-troversy.

Why? It’s about power. It’s about controlling who tells jokes about what. It’s attacking Gillis because he’s “coded MAGA” even if he’s not overtly political or a water-carrying Trump voter.

And then there’s Hasan Piker.

EDITOR’S NOTE: Enjoying Hollywood in Toto? I hope you’ll leave a coin (or two) in our TIP JAR.

He isn’t a comedian. He’s a Twitch streamer and pundit with long, deep ties to many prominent Democratic politicians. New York City’s Mayor Zohran Mamdani campaigned with him.

Others would love to do just that.

Politico then asked a number of possible 2028 Democratic hopefuls whether they would appear on Piker’s show: Gov. Gavin Newsom and Rahm Emanuel said they would. Representatives Ro Khanna and Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez already had. Senators Cory Booker, Ruben Gallego and Elissa Slotkin said they wouldn’t.

Some of the biggest platforms in America have given him interviews and access, from The New York Times to Rolling Stone. It’s often fawning in nature.

He’s been feted by “The Daily Show,” among other outlets.

So what does he have to say? Let’s sample some of his political commentary:

On comparing America to Al-Qaeda:

“[America] has caused tremendous terror all around the world.”

On the Left’s political opponents:

“You need to be shanking these motherf***ers [conservatives] and letting their f***ing intestines writhe on-stage,” he says. “Slice them up. Slice ‘em and f***ing dice ’em.”

On landlords:

“Kill them. Kill those motherf***ers. Murder those motherf***ers in the street. Let the streets soak in their f***ing red capitalist blood, dude.”

On 9/11:

“America deserved 9/11”

On Health Care:

“If you cared about Medicare fraud or Medicaid fraud, you would kill Rick Scott.”

He’s also bragged about sexually mocking a woman who dared to disagree with him.

On flags:

“Overall, what my favorite flag [is]? Hezbollah. Look it up. I’m not even kidding.’

On “Screams Before Silence,” the harrowing documentary where Israeli women described the sexual assaults, and far worse, committed upon them by Hamas terrorists:

“…unsubstantiated claims that some of which were directly found to be incorrect.”

On Zionism:

“Zionism is an exterminationist ideology built around ethnoreligious supremacist values. So, when people say, like, ‘oh well, you know, I’m a liberal Zionist…I want there to be a Jewish ethnostate.’ I’m like, okay, like, what do you mean? It’s like saying you’re like a liberal Nazi, you want an Aryan majority ethnostate? Like, what are you talking about?”

Oh, and he’s a fraud, but that’s less offensive than just ironic.

That’s just a partial list of Piker’s rhetoric.

Now, has Levy weighed in on Piker? Nwodim? What about The Hollywood Reporter? Deadline? NBC News?  Have they written pieces excoriating Piker, questioning his dehumanizing, hateful language? What about his ties to prominent Democrats?

Anything? Is this thing on?

Have any feminist groups savaged Piker for his violent rhetoric?

No? Why not? Certainly, any clear thinking soul sees that he’s far more dangerous than a chubby comedian who tells self-deprecating jokes along with crude cultural observations.

The lack of outrage over Piker on the Left tells you everything we need to know at this point in the culture wars.

Case closed.
