Scream 7 helmer Kevin Williamson has offered a surprising update on the future of the slasher franchise that might divide fans. The massive box office success of the most recent entry in the long-running Ghostface saga has sparked plenty of sequel buzz, though no official confirmation or greenlight has been given as yet. As one of the architects of the franchise, Williamson wrote the original scripts that helped establish Scream‘s signature meta-horror style and has since served as a writer, executive producer, and most recently, a director, but, despite his deep commitment, he has no plans to take a stab at a potential Scream 8.
