These trailers for old school classics from the past are always good fun and worthy of being watched – even if it is from a movie released some 69 years ago. Re-teaming Quatermass creator Nigel Kneale and BAFTA-winning director Val Guest, this thrilling fantasy horror has been painstakingly restored by Hammer Films in 4K from the best available film elements. Dr Rollason and his team, on a scientific expedition in the Himalayas, are guests at an isolated monastery. Then a second expedition of Americans turns up – intent on trapping the legendary Yeti in a money-making venture. Hammer adds: This is the definitive version of a film that has deserved one for decades. Peter Cushing at his most quietly compelling, a Yeti you almost never see, and a script by the legendary writer of Quatermass that asks harder questions than most horror films dare to.
