“People wanted to move… they just didn’t know how to… We were experiencing a whole new world.” 🕺 Trafalgar Releasing has unveiled the official trailer for a music history documentary film titled WHAM! 10 Days In China, hitting theaters worldwide in July this summer. This exciting new film dives back into a specific event to complement the WHAM! doc available on Netflix already. In 1985, WHAM! made history as the first Western pop act to perform in communist China. George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley’s concerts in Beijing and Guangzhou were a cultural milestone – East meets West, music meets politics. Now, newly restored footage reveals the untold story of the iconic tour that helped launch WHAM! to total global superstardom. The George Michael estate adds: “We are proud to be a part of this re-examination of what was a bold, brave foray into unknown territory both political and cultural some 40 years after the event took place. We hope that existing fans of WHAM! and those not so familiar with the China adventure will find this film as fascinating and thought provoking as we did during the making of the film.” This is a fascinating story to tell and actually seems profound in examining how music can really shake up the world.
