“I just want my sister back!” Sunrise Films & Rialto Distribution have unveiled an official trailer for the film titled April X, an indie sci-fi thriller from filmmaker Michel K. Parandi. He’s making his feature directorial debut working on this film. It premiered at festivals last year and will be out in US theaters this September. In the near future, twin siblings Bax & April (Storrie & Krug) struggle to survive at the margins of a hyper-capitalist city where technology quietly governs life and death. When April disappears after trying to protect him from a criminal network, Bax spirals into guilt & isolation. Haunted by visions of his sister, he descends into a violent underworld in search of the truth, confronting the cost of identity, love, and survival. Starring Lilly Krug and Connor Storrie (from Heated Rivalry), with Tudor Chirila, Serban Pavlu, Tourialay Akbari. This was filmed in Budapest, Romania and features solid low budget visuals – with cinematography by Matthew Atticus Berger. They’re obviously going for a Blade Runner 2049 vibe in here, though the story doesn’t seem that original or interesting to follow.
