“You and I are side-by-side all the way!” Netflix has revealed an official trailer for The Altruists, a mini-series about the infamous FTX scandal and the downfall of these two people. Yet another true crime series about how tech people are total criminals doing totally insane things and trying to get away with it. Created by the Oscar-winning writer of The Imitation Game, it follows the tumultuous romance between FTX co-founder Sam Bankman-Fried and his girlfriend Caroline Ellison. It depicts their ambitious attempts to revolutionize the financial system, leading to a $36 billion fraud. Julia Garner and Anthony Boyle star as Caroline Ellison and Sam Bankman-Fried in this limited series about the love scorned prodigies behind the FTX scandal. The two were in a relationship and the creator says he really believes they were trying to do good, they were “altruists”, before they got caught up in this craziness and the crypto game and the crime of being too greedy. Inspired by the NY Magazine articles written by Kevin T. Dugan & Jen Wieczner. Starring Julia Garner and Anthony Boyle, with Alex Lawther (as Sam Trabucco), Karan Soni (as Nishad Singh), Naomi Okada (as Claire Watanabe), Madison Hu (as Constance Wang), Matt Rife (as Ryan Salame), Eugene Young (Gary Wang), Paul Reiser (as Joe Bankman), Robin Weigert (as Barbara Fried).
