JoAnna Cameron was born on September 20, 1951, in Vail, Colorado, USA as JoAnna Kara Cameron. JoAnna Cameron is an American former actress and model, perhaps best known for her portrayal of the title role on Isis, a 1970s children’s television series, which was later rebroadcast as The Secrets of Isis. While at college, Cameron became friends with Linda Hope, the daughter of Bob Hope. When she was introduced to the famous comedian, he cast her in the film How to Commit Marriage in 1969. This led to a series of film and television roles throughout the 1970s. Cameron was reportedly considered for the Love Story role that went to Ali MacGraw. She acted in the 1970s films B.S. I Love You and the black comedy Pretty Maids All in a Row. These are my top 10 movies for JoAnna Cameron.

9. Pretty Maids All in a Row (1971) – Comedy/Dark comedy

Oceanfront High School student Ponce de Leon Harper is obsessed with sex. Fortunately, he meets lots of girls. Unfortunately, they all end up dead. Roger Vadim brings the quirky sensibility that has made his Barbarella a cult fave to his first American movie.

8. The Amazing Spider-Man (1977) – Action/Fantasy

A mysterious Guru surface in New York City and places people under mind-control to rob banks and threatens to have 10 New Yorkers under his command commit suicide unless the city pays him a $50 million ransom. Meanwhile, College student Peter Parker, a freelance photographer for The Daily Bugle struggles to make ends meet under his sometimes hostile boss J. Jonah Jameson. Jameson tells Peter to improve his photographs in order to warrant him purchasing any further photos from him.

7. Sorority Kill (1974) – Drama

A chilling story of a psychotic killer who holds six people captive in a sorority house, each of them realizing that their captor’s mind is like a defective time bomb and could go off at any moment.

6. It Couldn’t Happen to a Nicer Guy (1974) – Comedy

A beautiful woman kidnaps a random family man at gunpoint (“for kicks”), drives him to a secluded spot, orders him to strip naked, and then rapes him in the back seat of her car, before sending him on his way naked. He reports the incident to the authorities as a rape, but they either don’t believe him or, if they do, can’t understand why he would consider it a crime – a reaction he also gets from his friends and family.

5. The Great American Beauty Contest (1973) – Satire/Comedy-drama

A beautiful black girl (Tracy Reed), aware she is there because of “the black population percentage of New Jersey,” is bluntly told she “will have to be more white than anyone else.” Another close contender is Miss Oklahoma (Joanna Cameron), a peppery women’s liberation activist who wants the crown to “bust the contest wide open” with a speech about “exploitation.”

4. Columbo: Negative Reaction – TV Series (1978) – Drama

Money, success, and prosperity are of no use either: star photographer Paul Galesko (Dick Van Dyke) suffers like a pig from his domineering wife. With the nerves at the end, the clippers extinguish the tyrannous light of life – and present the murderer to the police with ex-con Deschler (Don Gordon). Of course, Columbo (Peter Falk) does not fall for the magic. But how does the Schlurfi convict the rascal? Die-hard fans count this savvy episode among the top 10 charts in the Knittercop series. Is correct!

3. Spider-Man Strikes Back (1978) – Superhero/Family

At the New York State University, Peter Parker is attending a science class that is talking about the Manhattan Project. The well-meaning professor has indirectly taught the class how to make an atomic bomb, which is taken advantage of by three of Peter’s classmates who are activists bent on making a political statement. The students use the plutonium to try to build a bomb in order to illustrate the dangers of nuclear power.

2. B.S. I Love You (1971) – Comedy/Drama

A female executive who is the head of an advertising agency on Madison Avenue has slept her way to the top and now has her sights on a young advertising executive. He succumbs to her seductions and by doing so, he has ensured his rise up the corporate ladder of success.

1. The Secrets of Isis – TV Series (1975) – Action/Adventure

“The Secrets of Isis” was a live-action, CBS television series that featured the adventures of Isis. It was produced by Filmation in the 1970s originally titled Isis that appeared during the Saturday morning cartoon lineup. The show was later paired with the Shazam! series and it was called “The Shazam/Isis Hour.” The Secrets of Isis also aired in various countries around the world.
