Jason Kelce is throwing the penalty flag on some old college photos.
Ahead of the former Philadelphia Eagles center’s induction into his alma mater University of Cincinnati’s Hall of Fame, he had a hairy feeling about his grooming style during his days on the Bearcats’ football team.
“I just hate the way my face looks without a beard,” Jason said on the Sept. 2 episode of his New Heights podcast while looking at photos of his and brother Travis Kelce’s college team huddled up during a game. “Is that what I look like when I’m yelling? Is that how it always looks?”
But his beard wasn’t the only grooming technique he dropped the ball on.
“That was back when I used to just take my razor, and that’s how I trim my eyebrows,” the 38-year-old added. “I would just go straight across my eyebrows. So they ended up being super thin and not having any shape.”
Of course, Jason has traded in his old playbook and now sports a full beard, which is actually the only look his wife Kylie Kelce has ever known.
In fact, she recently said that seeing a beardless Jason would “blow my mind.”
“That would absolutely freak me out,” the Not Gonna Lie host said on the Aug. 31 episode of her podcast. “I’ve never met his chin, I’ve never seen his chin in person. We’ve never met. Rumor has it that there’s a little bit of the butt chin under there. I don’t know though; I’ve never met it. That’d be kind of fun to find out.”
But while Kylie is willing to try out a new look, she is sure that her and Jason’s daughters Wyatt, 6, Elliotte, 5, Bennett, 3, and Finnley, 17 months, would punt the idea away.
“It would blow their minds,” she added. “The girls would freak out. I think that at least one of them would cry. I’m banking on three of them, but at least one, for sure.”
