“They’re gonna come, bro…” “You can’t let that happen.” AMC Theatres & Mansa have unveiled an official trailer for a film titled Newborn, the latest feature written and directed by filmmaker Nate Parker – known for his previous two films The Birth of a Nation and American Skin. After years of being locked in solitary confinement, a man is released into a newly self-isolating society. The title seems to be a play on the idea he is a “newborn” into society. But it’s also literally his name. After serving seven years in solitary confinement, Chris Newborn seeks to rebuild his life and reconnect with his family only to find that freedom has become a terrifying psychological battleground. The film stars David Oyelowo as Newborn, Aiden Stoxx, Barry Pepper, Olivia Washington, Jimmie Fails, and Rukiya Bernard.
