While Larian Studios’ work on Baldur’s Gate 3 is clearly laudable in its own right, its status as a Dungeons & Dragons adaptation, not to mention the name recognition of its franchise, certainly helped the project have immediately wide appeal. DnD‘s fifth edition has seen the tabletop RPG become more popular than ever, but Larian is taking another opportunity to show its turn-based combat chop with Divinity.
