While every Star Wars project is going to be met with polarizing reception, it’s hard to argue that it’s a great time to be a fan of the sci-fi franchise. In the last few years, Star Wars fans have been treated to wildly different projects such as Andor, an epic spy thriller, and Ahsoka, a mythic tale of the Force through users who utilize it entirely differently. Another popular Star Wars project to merge in the last few years is The Mandalorian, which arrived in 2019 at the same time that Disney Plus was unveiled as a streaming platform. After running for three full seasons under the Disney Plus banner, the story of The Mandalorian continues in the latest theatrical film, The Mandalorian and Grogu, which is now playing in theaters everywhere. It’s the first Star Wars movie to be released in theaters since The Rise of Skywalker.
