Debra Lynn Winger born on May 16, 1955, is an American actress. She enrolled in college, majoring in criminology. She worked part-time in the local amusement park when she got thrown from a truck and suffered serious injuries and went temporarily blind for several months. She was in the hospital when she vowed to pursue her passion for acting. She starred in the films An Officer and a Gentleman (1982), Terms of Endearment (1983), and Shadowlands (1993), each of which earned her a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actress. These are my top 10 movies for Debra Winger

9. Legal Eagles (1986) – Comedy/Romance

However, as the lawyers dig deeper into the case, things take a shocking turn, and Tom finds his career in jeopardy.
8. Betrayed (1988) – Thriller/Crime
Following the murder of a radio personality in Chicago, all evidence of the crime points to a white supremacist group from Iowa. With the FBI on the case, the department sends inexperienced agent Catherine Weaver (Debra Winger) on an undercover mission to root out the killers. Falling for her guise, a local farmer and suspect Gary Simmons (Tom Berenger) fully embraces Weaver into the community. As Weaver spends more time with Simmons, her belief in his guilt diminishes and love takes its place.
7. Black Widow (1987) – Thriller/Mystery
Federal agent Alexandra Barnes (Debra Winger) believes that Catherine Petersen (Theresa Russell) is a serial killer who marries rich men and then murders them for their money. But since Catherine is seemingly a master of disguise and has multiple identities, Alexandra can’t prove anything with conventional detective work. With no other option, she goes undercover, pursuing the same man (Sami Frey) as Catherine, and hoping that Catherine will slip up and reveal her true identity.
6. Shadowlands (1993) – Romance/Drama
C. S. Lewis (Anthony Hopkins), the renowned author of “The Chronicles of Narnia” series, is a bachelor and Oxford University professor who spends his free time debating with fellow academics at a pub. Although he seems entirely uninterested in love, Lewis agrees to marry Joy Gresham (Debra Winger), an American writer who is looking to secure British citizenship. Their arrangement soon becomes a romance, and, when Joy is diagnosed with terminal cancer, their bond grows even stronger.
5. The Sheltering Sky (1990) – Romance/Drama
In the aftermath of World War II, three young Americans arrive in Tangier in search of new experiences. They describe themselves as travelers, not tourists. They intend to immerse themselves in the Northern African culture and climate, taste the exotic, and judge the forbidden for themselves. Two of them – Porter and Kit Moresby – are a married couple, writers, and intellectuals, who have remained together for some 10 years even though there are largely unsettled areas between them. The third is their friend, George Tunner, who is along more or less as a lark.
4. Kajillionaire (2020) – Drama/Comedy
The world is a weird place. Miranda July knows that, but the rest of us sometimes forget. Or maybe we just don’t want to admit how bizarre it is that society more or less agrees that back rubs and hot tubs and flavored chips and McRibs are an appropriate reward for a bazillion years of human development. It’s not until you visit a foreign country, or watch a foreigner trying to make sense of your own, that it starts to register just how weird it all is.
3. Urban Cowboy (1980) – Romance/Western
After moving to Pasadena, Texas, country boy Bud Davis (John Travolta) starts hanging around a bar called Gilley’s, where he falls in love with Sissy (Debra Winger), a cowgirl who believes the sexes are equal. They eventually marry, but their relationship is turbulent due to Bud’s traditional view of gender roles. Jealousy over his rival, Wes (Scott Glenn), leads to their separation, but Bud attempts to win Sissy back by triumphing at Gilley’s mechanical bull-riding competition.
2. Terms of Endearment (1983) – Drama/Comedy
Widow Aurora Greenway (Shirley MacLaine) and her daughter, Emma (Debra Winger), have a strong bond, but Emma marries teacher Flap Horton (Jeff Daniels) against her mother’s wishes. When the marriage grows sour due to Flap’s cheating, Emma eventually splits from him, returning to her mother, who is involved with a former astronaut (Jack Nicholson). Soon, Emma learns that she has terminal cancer. In the hospital, supported by Aurora, she tries to make peace with Flap and her children.

Emil Foley (Louis Gossett Jr.), gives Zack a rude awakening in terms of relating with other people. Through Foley’s guidance — and an unexpected romance with Paula (Debra Winger), an outsider who hangs around the naval base — Zack learns some tough lessons and discovers what he truly wants out of life.
