Fresh off the massive bomb that was the historical epic Desert Warrior, Anthony Mackieis returning to the desert for a very different kind of movie. He’ll appear in Barracuda as Karl, a former smuggler who rescues a kidnapped teenaged girl from a nightclub in Mexico, kills the brother of the ruthless club owner and steals his 1973 Plymouth Barracuda, and then burns rubber across 100 miles of deadly roads in a race towards the U.S. border, chased all the while by relentless criminals. The movie sounds like one big car chase. That recalls Mad Max: Road, indisputably the best action movie of the 21st century, which is never a bad thing.
