Amazon's 'Mass Effect' Delays Reportedly Due to Script Approvals

Prime Video is moving forward with a show based on the BioWare video game Mass Effect, but gamers eager to see the year 2183 dramatized on the small screen may have to wait a little longer. The video game series is notorious for releasing sprawling narratives, with some estimating that it takes roughly 150 hours of gameplay to complete the entire trilogy. On the one hand, by translating the game into a long-form TV series, there’s more space to honor the source material. On the other hand, the creatives have had a harder time getting the green light to move forward on the project, because Amazon MGM’s Head of Global TV Peter Friedlander is insisting on going over every script before he approves any project currently in development, according to The Ankler.
