Agostina Belli , real name Agostina Maria Magnoni, is an Italian actress born on April 13 , 1947 in Milan (Lombardy). Star of Italian cinema ofthe 1970s, her performances in Dino Risi’s films “Parfum de femme” and “La Carrière d’une femme de chambre” have earned her international recognition.

Early Life:
The young woman then dreams of herself as a professional dancer and it is almost by chance that the cinema meets her. She learns from a friend that Carlo Lizzaniis looking for extras for an upcoming film to be shot in his town. It is with a simple passport photo that she introduces herself to the director who bursts out laughing at her naivety and encourages her to take other, more professional shots. With or without “book”, this one does not fail to notice her beauty and gives her a small role of hostage, alongside Gian Maria Volonte, in “Bandits à Milan” (1968).

First Successes:
After a few small participations, Agostina Belli takes on more consistent roles. But when her career seemed to take off, she was the victim of a road accident that forced her to have a long and painful convalescence. In February 1970, horror and tragedy invite themselves into the private life of the actress who has to deal with the death of her mother, murdered in circumstances still unclear today. And it is in the horror cinema that she knows her first successes. We see it successively in “Il castello dalle porte di fuoco” by José Luis Merino , in “the giallo Giornata nera per l’ariete by Luigi Bazzoni” and in “The Night of the Devils” by Giorgio Ferroni . Her presence, in 1972, in the distribution of the film “Bluebeard of Edward Dmytryk” brought her international visibility.

Some Movies:
The first experience of working with a French director arrived very early in the career of Agostina Belli with Yves Boisset who gave her a small role in 1970 “Detent”. In 1976, she shot “Le Grand Escogriffe”, a comedy by Claude Pinoteau with partners Yves Montand and Claude Brasseur. The same year she found Yves Boisset on the set for “Un taxi mauve”.

After four years of absence on the big screen, we find her in 1982 in “La Guérilléra”. In 1984, she was alongside Brigitte Fossey , Emmanuelle Béart and Fernando Rey in “Un amour interdict”. Again she appears on the small screen in 1983, with Michel Constan tin, in a TV movie directed by Philippe Ducrest and then in 1989 in the “L’Agence” series directed by Jean Sagols. In 1982 she appear in “Vai avanti tu che mi vien da ridere”, “Torna (1984)” and begins a career on the small screen. During the 1990s, she appeared occasionally on television before retiring in 1996.

What Happened:
In 2007, she made a brief appearance in “Natural Born Star”, a documentary devoted to her ex-husband Fred Robsham from whom she had been separated for almost twenty years. The following year, she filmed “Amore che vieni, amore che vai”. Even if she doubts the reception of the public who finds her changed after a decade of eclipse, she says she is once again attracted by the Italian cinema which is experiencing a real revival of creativity. Finally, in 2010, she participated in “Vittorio racconta Gassman: Una vita da mattatore” which pays tribute to her great partner. In 2008, she was still living near Rome, in her house on the shores of Lake Bracciano, with her companion, many animals, still childless and always with her father.
