After 9 Episodes, 'Sheriff Country' Just Repeated 'Fire Country's Most Ridiculous Problem

Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers for Sheriff Country Season 1, Episode 10.Sheriff Country finally returned from its winter break with the midseason premiere episode, “The Crucible, Part 2.” Picking up where the midseason finale’s cliffhanger left off, Travis Fraley (Christopher Gorham), has been shot, and Mickey Fox (Morena Baccarin) must defend her sheriff’s station from a brutal siege by the followers of Enoch Barlow (Michael Gaston), who was arrested by the FBI and is still being held in Mickey’s custody at the start of the episode. Fortunately, the main cast makes it out of the ordeal alive, but the episode ends with a groan-inducing moment with Mickey kissing Travis, reaffirming their love and romantic relationship. Just as Fire Country uses relationship drama to its detriment, Sheriff Country has now effectively inherited the biggest problem of its flagship series.
