Live from New York, it’s Scarlett Johansson and Colin Jost making a rare public outing.
The Avengers star and Saturday Night Live cast member stepped out in style for a screening of the actress’ forthcoming project Paper Tiger at the opening night of the 64th New York Film Festival Sept. 25, marking their first joint red carpet appearance in more than a year.
For their marvelous outing, Johansson, 41, and Jost, 44, proved they’re always on the same page as they donned coordinated outfits.
Johansson, for her part, wore a figure-hugging gray minidress, which she paired with strappy silver heels. To complete her look, the Black Widow star opted for a pop of color with a bold red lip and a light pink Prada bag.
Meanwhile, Jost—who tied the knot with Johansson in 2020—got the groufit memo as he stepped out wearing a gray suit with a pink button-down shirt underneath. To pull his look together, the comedian wore a maroon tie.
And it’s no surprise that the couple went all out in the fashion department for the occasion. After all, they haven’t walked the red carpet together since attending the 2025 Emmys at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, where Johansson donned a strapless cream dress while Jost wore a classic black suit.
Though the Weekend Update host and Lost in Translation actress don’t make it a habit to publicize their date nights, they’ve never been shy about having a good laugh when it comes to their relationship.
In fact, the pair first met when Johansson—mom to daughter Rose, 12, with ex-husband Romain Dauriac as well as son Cosmo, 5, with Jost—was hosting SNL for the first time in 2006. Though the couple didn’t begin dating until 2017, Jost recalled writing a sketch for his future wife in his 2020 memoir A Very Punchable Face.
“The only line I remember from the sketch is when Scarlett’s bratty character says, ‘This party is literally worse than the Holocaust.'” Jost penned in his book. “That was my Shakespearean sonnet for the woman I would one day fall in love with.”
And it’s no secret that they’ve been laughing ever since
Aside from delivering jokes on the 8H stage about their relationship—including one now-infamous wisecrack where Jost referred to his wife’s nether regions as “roast beef” during his and Michael Che’s annual joke swap in 2024—they’ve also learned to laugh about their dynamic IRL, particularly when it comes to their levels of fame.
After Travis Kelce, who married wife Taylor Swift last July, asked Jost during his May 13 appearance on the NFL star’s New Heights podcast, “How nice is it to be the less famous person in the relationship?” Jost had the perfect response.
As he put it with a laugh, “Huge relief. Really.”
