Jenna Dewan, Channing Tatum’s Daughter Everly Makes Rare DWTS Outing

Watch: How Jenna Dewan, Channing Tatum’s Daughter Everly Reacted to Her ‘Dancing With the Stars’ Casting

As Jenna Dewan begins her Dancing With the Stars journey, she’s got the support of a full squad.

And we don’t just mean her Rookie costars. Back home, Jenna’s biggest fans are her three children; 13-year-old daughter Everly, whom she shares with ex-husband Channing Tatum, as well as 6-year-old Callum and 2-year-old Rhiannon with fiancé Steve Kazee.

In fact, not only did her pre-dance package included a rare photo of all three of her kids together, but Everly and Steve were both seated in the audience to witness Jenna’s tango to “Call Me” with partner Val Chmerkoskiy.

And when the pair earned a 19 for their dance, the highest of the night, Everly and Steve surged to their feet in celebration.

After all, as Jenna revealed, her eldest has long hoped the Step Up star would find her way into the ballroom.

“She was a huge reason why I was so excited to do this, because she loved the show so much,” Jenna told E! News’ Will Marfuggi after the Sept. 16 episode. “I received the offer, and I knew if I say this too loud, she’s gonna freak out.”

But it turns out, Everly’s ears are always primed to pick up on any DWTS chatter.

“I went to the corner of her room, and I saw her head go, ‘Did you just get offered Dancing With the Stars?'” Jenna recalled. “She was like, ‘Please, Mom, I love this.'”

Prior to her debut in the DWTS ballroom, Jenna detailed both her nerves and her excitement—noting how her time on the show marked a full-circle moment, with her career having started in dance.

“There will be a high level of expectation,” she told Val upon their first meeting, “and hopefully excitement for what we’re gonna bring.”

As she put it in a confessional, “Dance was the one part of myself that was there for me prior to acting, prior to being a mom. So, coming back to that right now is allowing myself to put myself first.”

And though Jenna and Val’s debut earned among the week’s highest scores, Val told E!, “I don’t want those sixes.”

In fact, he hopes to continue to push past people’s high expectations for Jenna.

“Yes, it’s a dance show, but it’s also a human experience that people want to see growth,” the choreographer shared. “They want to see participation. They want to see expansion of one’s abilities, and they want to see it in real time, live every single week.”

However, I added five more Dancing With the Stars on the board.”
