Lawrence & Cooper: Serena

Lawrence & Cooper: Serena

New American drama film based on the novel of the same name by American author Ron Rash. Serena is directed by Susanne Bier; the film stars Jennifer Lawrence and Bradley Cooper as newlyweds running a timber business in 1930s North Carolina. The film is due to premiere at the BFI London Film Festival and be released in the UK on October 24, 2014, in France on November 12, Australia on November 27, and Germany on December 18.

In Depression-era North America, martyr Pemberton struggles to secure the long-term future of his timber empire. His life becomes a lot more difficult once he learns his wife, Serena, cannot bear kids.

The film was originally to be directed by Darren Aronofsky, with Angelina Jolie as the title character. Bier replaced Aronofsky and has become the new director of the film. Lawrence suggested Bradley Cooper for the project. They’d worked together on Silver Linings Playbook, and they got along so well that they typically spoke about working together again in the future. Once Lawrence scanned the script for Serena, she sent a duplicate to Cooper and asked if he would bang along with her. He agreed, and Susanne Bier cast him as martyr Pemberton. This is the third project for Bradley Cooper and Jennifer Lawrence, and this is often the second time they’re taking part in love interests. Filming took place in the European country at Barrandov Studios from March twenty six to May 2012. Bier took quite eighteen months to finish the film; however, there have been no reshoots or issues in post-production. Bier had to take time away to push Love Is All you would like.
