74 Years Later, John Wayne's Forgotten Sleeper Hit Surges on Streaming

These days, when people think of John Wayne, they likely just think of his many, many Westerns — or maybe his right-wing, pro-Nixon, pro-McCarthyism political leanings. But he made other movies where he wasn’t wearing a cowboy hat, and some of those movies are pretty good. Like, for example, John Ford’s 1952 romantic comedy The Quiet Man, which has been shooting up the charts on Pluto and has now settled into the free streamer’s top 10 list.
