24 Years Later, the Best Sci-Fi Western of All Time Is Taking Over the World

It isn’t uncommon for popular television shows to inspire follow-up feature films, as was recently seen with Peaky Blinders: The Immortal Man. Every generation has a favorite series that received a theatrical sequel; both Sex and the City and Entourage were revived on the big screen. However, around two decades ago, 20th Century Studios made the decision to produce a theatrical feature film follow-up to a show that barely survived its first season. Far from finding the same success as Peaky Blinders, the show was unceremoniously cancelled after a 14-episode first season. Shortly after its initial run, the show in question became a word-of-mouth hit on home video. Reruns proved that it had struck a chord with its target audience, and a decision was made to give them what they wanted.
